Why 250 words per page?

The simple answer is, it's the industry standard, but there is a good reason why we charge by every 250 words equals a page. For one thing, not every person wanting an edit knows about proper formatting. For example, we might receive a request from someone who says he has 110 pages, but in reality, he has a single-spaced document in 10-point type. If properly formatted, those 110 pages would turn into a manuscript of around 250 pages or more. And for poets, charging by each page, regardless of how many words are on it, wouldn't be economical. The fairest way, by far, is to calculate by the overall word count of the manuscript, divide by 250 (the standard page) to arrive at the number of pages. Use this simple method to determine how much it would cost to have your manuscript edited.
